What I can also say is, if EQ2 has the sort of players that I have experienced in EQ1. ![]() I am far from an intense go-for-the-throat min/max sort of player. The graphics and system is definitely different, but I haven't found it to be so different I could not adjust. I have to say, being introduced to EQ2 as a new player I have been enjoying it immensely. I read a lot of comments about how it was at launch time so many years ago. I decided just to start poking around about EQ2 since it is in my all access account. I've been playing EQ1 for 6 months on a TLP and I have no desire to quit. I'm in a unique position here to comment, but usually people can make there best decisions from a variety of viewpoints. Of course, the EQ1 Newbie Zone forums are a great resource: The Newbie Zone | EverQuest Forums () This webpage is one of better compilations and guides for EQ1: ReturningtoEQFAQ - eqmtLibrary () I've always found EQ2 sites difficult (but the best is the EQ2 Wiki). I've actually found EQ1 interestingly more simplified in some areas (gear) and more difficult in others (class knowledge) with EQ2 being the inverse (more complex gearing, simple playing). Tank mercenaries can solo most mobs up to level 85 or so. ”You will need to box to progress quickly on EQ1. Just so much dumped on you at once, you know? And there seems to be a lack of current guides for both EQ1 and EQ2. And I imagine it would be difficult to learn a class if you do the level 85 (I think it is) character boost. ↑ “ I was considering trying EQ1 again (haven't played in years except a brief time on a TLP server) but I understand that it's a very long, boring process to solo yourself to cap. | EverQuest 2 Forums () ”I was considering trying EQ1 again (haven't played in years except a brief time on a TLP server) but I understand that it's a very long, boring process to solo yourself to cap. ![]() Othmir Fez Hat on EQ1 if you log in as a member between March 16 and April 20. EQ2 population has a lot of veterans but they are friendly and helpful. Otherwise, the solo and group play with the depth of content is worth the price of the expansion for the most part. ↑ “ EQ2 has a steep power curve if you want to be a raider or good heroic. If you are getting membership and thinking of EQ1, be sure to claim the Othmir Fez Hat before April 20: I believe a few devs have said EG7 is committed to investing in the EQ franchise. If you want a heavy social game, check out high population EQ1 TLP servers such as Aradune or Live servers such as Xegony and Firiona Vie. Interestingly, people who have had a hard time with EQ2 (power curve) have settled into EQ1. ”EQ2 has a steep power curve if you want to be a raider or good heroic. I'm a long-term LOTRO player, and if I'd listened to all the people who said that game would close down any minute, I would have missed out on a lot of fun and friends. The most important thing to me is community, and it sounds like EQ2 has a good one. So, it looks like Firiona Vie with the non-standard ruleset and then Bristlebane, Bertoxxulous, Cazic Thule, and Xegony before dipping into single-digit percentages.↑ “ Thanks guys. Note: 3 ticks of medium were missed for Miragul according to Riou, so it's technically just slightly lower than it should be for that time frame. It shows the number of pings at each status level. I assume it's probably what the Daybreak status page is also using, but EQ Resource also keeps track of the history and makes it available. It doesn't give you population numbers ( Darkpaw doesn't really want to make that public), but it does give statuses such High, Medium, and Low. EQ Resource has a server status page where they use the Census API to collect readings.
